Bronchitis

Bronchitis is characterized by a hypertrophy in the mucus producing glands and an inflammation of the bronchioles (small diameter), which restricts the airflow. When there is an aggravation of the inflammation, the production of mucus increases considerably.

There are two types of bronchitis: acute and chronic.

Acute Bronchitis
  • Being caused mainly by viruses, acute bronchitis can however also be of bacterial origin.
  • It is usually of short duration, but can happen often...
  • Bacteria such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Bordetella pertussis and Chlamydia pneumoniae may cause acute infectious bronchitis.
In the people at risk for acute bronchitis are included:
  • Seniors, children and babies
  • People with heart or lung disease
  • Smokers
  • People exposed to cigarette smoke
Chronic bronchitis

This type of bronchitis is characterized by the presence of cough with mucus in a period of three months to two years ... It is a consequence of the change in the bronchial mucosa due to prolonged exposure to irritants and allergens like smoke, dust, insecticides, paints, dust mites, etc.

AIRFREE® air purifiers are up to 99% efficient by destroying mould spores in the air, bacteria, viruses, ozone, allergens from dust and dust mites and other air pollutants, therefore representing a great ally in improving allergy sufferers’ quality of life.

How does it work?

It drastically reduces air allergens by incinerating microorganisms. As a result, contaminated air is dragged through the Airfree® ceramic centre and destroyed at high temperatures. This air purifying cycle is silent, requires no maintenance and is ensured by numerous tests.
